Time is always short when on holidays.
So better fly to our S Pacific. You cover the 230 miles
(368 km) to Puerto Jiménez, on Dulce Gulf, in 1 hour to
get to the star of the area: the Corcovado NP in the SW
corner of Osa Peninsula.
The Corcovado NP aims at protecting the
last portion of the Tropical Humid Forest of the Region.
It covers a surface of 105,000 acres (42,000 ha) with
hot, rainy and very humid climate and protects 8
habitats home to thousands of flora and fauna species,
many in danger of extinction, such as the Red Macaw, the
Jaguar (felis onca in Latin) and the Crocodile. Services
available: nature trails, drinking water, toilets,
camping areas and wonderful and huge beaches.
The near
quiet community of Carate was until 1985 a place where
gold miners used to meet and stay.
This National Park

more and more famous for sport fishing and

For
your next visit, a new cultural park could be then
organized near Palmar Sur dedicated to indigenous stone
spheres and whose godfather is our national sculptor
Jorge Jiménez Deredia
